Delete Your Account

Functional Skills Maths, operated by Developing Maths Ltd

Effective date: August 2026  ·  Version 1.0

This page explains how to request deletion of your Functional Skills Maths account — whether you signed up on functionalskillsmaths.online or through the Functional Skills Maths Android app — and exactly what happens to your data when you do.

How to Request Deletion

  1. Email [email protected] from the email address linked to your account, with the subject line "Delete my account".
  2. Include the full name and email address on the account, so we can find and verify it's yours.
  3. We will confirm your identity and delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days, and confirm by email once it's done.

You can also request deletion of specific data only (for example, your assessment results but not your account) — just say so in your email and we'll action that instead.

What Gets Deleted

Once your deletion request is processed, the following is permanently removed:

DataWhat happens
Name and email addressPermanently deleted
Account login (Supabase Auth)Permanently deleted — you will no longer be able to log in
Assessment, drill and checkpoint resultsPermanently deleted
School/class membershipPermanently deleted
Server/error logs mentioning your accountDeleted on their normal 30-day rolling cycle, not retained further

What May Be Retained, and Why

A small amount of data cannot be deleted immediately because we, or our payment processor, are legally required to keep it:

DataRetentionWhy
Payment/transaction records held by Stripe (our payment processor)Up to 6 yearsUK tax and accounting law requires records of payments to be kept for this period. This data is Stripe's own transaction history, not something stored in our own database, and is never used for any purpose other than accounting/legal compliance once your account is deleted.

Deleting your account does not delete this Stripe transaction record, but it does stop any future use of your personal data for any other purpose, and removes it from every system we control directly.

Cancelling a Subscription First

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active paid subscription. Please cancel any active subscription first (via "Manage your subscription" on your dashboard, or by asking us in your deletion request) to avoid being charged again before deletion completes.
